A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to invalid email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a spelling mistake. The negative aspect of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of spam emails, but this issue can be solved using anti-spam filtering software. It is also essential to remember that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound messages to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
In case you host a domain on our cloud hosting platform and you have a website hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all feature for any mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section comes with quite a lot of features, but it’s amazingly intuitive, so setting up a catch-all mailbox takes just a click. All the email addresses that you’ve created will be enumerated in this section alphabetically and you’ll simply have to click on the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the particular address. Our system will inform you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or choose another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as simple and requires one more mouse click on the same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The custom Hepsia hosting Control Panel that comes with each semi-dedicated server package that we’re offering will permit you to set up a catch-all email mailbox without any efforts even in case you do not have much email/web hosting experience. All you need to do to achieve that is click on the catch-all icon, which will be on the right side of each mailbox that you’ve created using your domain names in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Since you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will let you know if you’ve already set up a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding enabled. If you reach the decision that you do not need this feature anymore, you can remove it by clicking again on the very same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
